The provision of training remains a fundamental element of the ProCure21 programme. Since September 07 we have trained over 500 delegates on our courses and would like to extend that from this September onwards.

Areas covered have included

• General introduction to ProCure21 - principles and practices, cultural requirements.
• Requirements of the trust to manage the scheme effectively.
• Roles and responsibilities of the Project Director and Project Manager.
• PSCP Selection - Introduction to the process, when to select, scheme funding, feedback
• Pre-GMP costs, managing expectations, agreeing GMP.
• Cost Advisor training – Roles, responsibilities, deliverables, NEC Contract.
• NEC Contract – Introduction to the contract, use of the proformas, agreeing and signing the contract.

  We ran 3 very successful introductory courses in May, but have now paused for the summer period. However we will be resuming in September with a revised set of courses of the following headings;

• Improving Knowledge to Improve Performance (2 day introductory course)
• Scheme development and the route to Guaranteed Maximum Price (1 day advanced)
• Practical guide to use if the NEC Contract (1 day advanced)

We recognise that although there is still a need for introductory courses, there is a need for more practical detail in complex areas of the process i.e. agreement of GMP and using the NEC Contract. These courses are being developed at the moment and more information will appear here as to their content and who should attend.
